A classically trained violinist from the age of 7 with a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University, Clash Gordon and his love for music are inseparable.
Fascinated at a young age by the sound of scratching and the prowess of Grandmaster Flash, as soon as he could afford his first turntables Clash started making mixtapes and DJ'ing for friends. In 2005 Clash landed his first residency at (the now shuttered) Reserve nightclub in downtown Chicago. After getting the opportunity of a lifetime one night to open and then study over the late DJ AM's shoulder, Clash became obsessed with the endless possibilities of Serato. It was off to the races performing live mashups across all genres of music (thus the name; Clash Gordon).
Clash went on to open for Common, The Roots, Lupe Fiasco, Flosstradamus, RJD2, Cake, Girl Talk, and had the honor of spinning Virgil Abloh's wedding. He then spent a year in London as a post-production sound engineer by day and spinning clubs and parties by night. Clash returned to Chicago in 2011, where he worked at Chicago Recording Company before pivoting to a career in digital marketing to pay the bills and rest his liver, all the while performing the occasional private event and underground party.
In 2017 Clash moved to Los Angeles to work in marketing at Live Nation, merging his advertising experience and passion for live music. Clash rediscovered his love for DJ'ing as the Covid-19 pandemic ravaged the live event industry and sent artists from the dance floor to the livestream. You can now find Clash on Twitch most Friday nights, putting on a free visual and aural experience.
